Because of your support—along with several others in our community—the Friends of Fusion Foundation and other local organizations with the generous leadership of Chrissy Holubinka and her family were able to deliver donations to two offices of the Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families (DSCYF), located in New Castle and Milford, Delaware. Together, we provided:
- Over 400 brand-new books & paired plush toys
- 100 brand-new backpacks
- Sponsorship for over 100 Foster Care kiddos, giving foster families an opportunity to connect through reading and sharing stories together
This year’s drive brought so much joy. Books were sorted by age/reading level/interest and delivered. It was incredibly moving to imagine the children who will open these backpacks, choose their books, and know that they are loved and supported. These books can be comforting, provide a little bit of escape, let them know it will be okay, make them smile, give them ideas & remind them that they matter, spark conversation for foster families, and can be a constant in a constant state of change.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being such an important part of this effort. Because of you, hundreds of smiles and countless new stories will be created in the lives of Delaware foster children.
